Boost your immune system with this easy DIY immunity shot recipe, made with fresh oranges, lemons, ginger, turmeric, and cayenne pepper. It makes 6 shots (50 ml each), perfect for daily wellness!

Immunity Shots with Ginger and Orange

Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • Excellent for combating seasonal illnesses. Do you feel the onset of "germ season" as soon as fall arrives? If you have kids or grandkids in school (especially preschool), avoiding catching whatever's happening seems almost impossible. The irony? They recover quickly, while those same germs seem to stick with you forever!
  • Make at home from natural ingredients. What if I told you you could get ahead of all the seasonal craziness by taking homemade immunity shots? And if you've already caught a cold, you can start taking them immediately to boost your recovery!

Do Immunity Shots Work?

  • I'm not saying these shots will cure your cold or make you completely immune, but they won't hurt! Taking a shot each morning, made from fresh ingredients proven by science to support your body and help fight illness, can only boost your immune system.
  • I first discovered these shots at Whole Foods, where they sell them in small 60 ml bottles and recommend taking one a day. I figured they did their research since Whole Foods is a trusted store. But to avoid the cost of buying them regularly, I decided to recreate them at home-and it's much more affordable!
  • I calculated the nutrition and tweaked the turmeric and cayenne pepper ratios until I found the ideal balance.

The Benefits of These Homemade Immunity Shots

The foundation of these shots is citrus, but what really brings them to life, in my opinion, is the ginger and turmeric, with a fiery kick from cayenne pepper.

Before we dive into the recipe, let me explain the benefits of each ingredient:

  • Orange: Oranges are packed with vitamin C, which helps your immune system, aids in iron absorption, and keeps your skin healthy. They also have antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation and protect against diseases.
  • Lemon: Lemons are a great source of vitamin C and antioxidants. They can boost your immune system, help digestion, and detoxify your body. The citric acid in lemons might also help prevent kidney stones.
  • Fresh Ginger: Ginger has properties that reduce inflammation and act as antioxidants. It can soothe stomach issues, lessen nausea, and help with sore throats. It may also strengthen your immune system and fight off infections.
  • Turmeric Powder: Turmeric contains curcumin, which is known for its potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. It can support joint health, aid digestion, and boost your immune system. Turmeric may also help lower the risk of chronic diseases.
  • Cayenne Pepper: Cayenne pepper has capsaicin, which helps reduce inflammation and may increase metabolism. It can improve blood flow, support digestion, and help relieve pain.

As you can see, this immunity shot can't hurt you; it can only help you fight off viruses and bacteria and make your body stronger!
