WELCOME TO NENA’S WELLNESS CORNER

Where Culinary Magic Happens!

My name is Snezana (Nena) Stefanovic. Welcome to my Wellness Corner. As someone who believes in eating whole, natural foods and understands the importance of being mindful about what we eat, I’m excited to invite you on a journey where delicious flavors, good health, and overall well-being come together.

I am a mom to two girls and a boy, a wife, a scientist, and a lifelong learner. There are always new things to learn and master, and I settled my mind and energy to explore nutrition.

My personal voyage into the realm of whole-food eating started with a simple question: What if the food we put on our plates could be both nourishing and delicious? This question ignited a passion within me to explore the incredible world of unprocessed, natural ingredients—a world that has not only transformed my relationship with food but has also nurtured my body and soul.

Here you will find some yummy recipes and useful nutritional information about the ingredients in these recipes. It’s a space dedicated to healthy recipes in under an hour (because who has time to spend hours in the kitchen) and nutrition tips for people wanting to lead a healthier lifestyle.

it is not hard to eat

Some Facts About My Blogging Journey

When did you start blogging?

I started my blogging journey in late 2021. I spent most of my working life in chemical labs but enjoy cooking and blogging way more. Many chemical reactions happen in our pots and pans, so I don’t feel I am away from the chemistry in the kitchen 😏.

Why did you start blogging?

I experienced a life-changing event during the delivery of my third baby. I reacted severely to a drug the doctors gave me during c-section surgery and underwent an anaphylactic shock. I have learned three lessons since that day. One – don’t take anything for granted. Two – life is short, and we should live it as simply as possible. Enjoy small things, be present in every moment, giggle with our kids, cuddle with our pets, and show love to our partners and family members. Three – I decided to share my passion for nutrition, health, and wellness with everyone interested in learning from me. This is how this blog was born.

How did you get interested in health and wellness?

I got interested in Health and Fitness after experiencing weight gain in 2009. I never had a severe weight gain issue before, but I always suffered from weight gain around my waistline and never seemed to get rid of it. For a petite person like me, any new addition to the waist looked worse. This was when I decided that I had to do something. I started researching fitness and healthy eating and bought who knows how many wellness and recipe books.

How is your professional experience helping you to establish healthy eating habits?

My background is in Biochemical Engineering. I learned a great deal about the food industry in school – how food is chemically processed, how its shelf life is extended, how food is packed, and all I learned involved additives in everything we consume today. But I didn’t think much of it then; it was all chemistry to me and not a concern, just a cool thing that scientists came up with to make our food last longer, be cooked faster, and taste better. What I know today is quite different – some chemicals make us sick. My journey started by recognizing that I have to change my habits, and this journey is still a continuous effort to improve my knowledge and abilities.
