Life gets busy, and not everyone has time to spend hours in the kitchen. It's easy to turn to takeout or fast food, thinking healthy meals take forever to make.

But guess what? You can cook delicious, healthy dishes in minutes, even if you're not an experienced cook, especially with an air fryer! It's one of my favorite kitchen tools and truly worth having. Once you try it, you'll love how easy it makes meals like my Air Fryer Corn on the Cob, Sweet Potato Wedges, or Oat Crisp with Apple and Coconut Oil.

Why You'll Love This Air Fryer Maple Salmon Recipe

  • Busy schedule? No problem. This maple salmon air fryer recipe gives you a flavorful, nutritious dinner that's ready in under 20 minutes from start to finish.
  • With pantry staples like olive oil, maple syrup and Italian seasoning, it's simple to pull together, and even picky eaters will approve of the lightly sweet glaze.
  • If you have an air fryer, you're already halfway there. For this recipe, I used my Ninja Air Fryer, and it made cooking the salmon quick, easy, and perfectly caramelized.
Maple salmon fillets arranged in air fryer basket.

🥣 Ingredients You'll Need

  • Salmon fillets: fresh, flaky fillets that cook perfectly in the air fryer
  • Extra-virgin olive oil: adds healthy fat and helps the glaze stick
  • Pure maple syrup: gives a sweet, caramelized flavor to the salmon
  • Balsamic vinegar: adds tangy depth and balances the sweetness
  • Italian seasoning: a simple mix of herbs for extra flavor
  • Sweet paprika powder: adds color and a mild, smoky taste
  • Salt: enhances all the flavors and makes the salmon taste amazing

👩‍🍳 How to Make Air Fryer Salmon with Maple Syrup

  1. Prepare the marinade: In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, salt, Italian seasoning, and sweet paprika powder until well combined.
  2. Marinate the salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is evenly coated. Let the salmon marinate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  3. Preheat the air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C), the best temperature for cooking salmon fillets, for about 3 minutes.
  4. Air-Fry the salmon: Lightly grease the air fryer basket; this is how you keep the salmon from sticking to the basket. Place the marinated salmon fillets in the basket, skin-side down, if applicable. Cook the salmon at 375°F (190°C) for 8 minutes. Flip the fillets halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.
  5. Check for doneness: The salmon should be cooked through and easily flaked with a fork.
  6. Serve: Remove the salmon from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious air-fried salmon fillets with your favorite sides

🟢 Top Tip

Marinating for at least 15 minutes helps the salmon stay juicy and infused with flavor.

Storage Suggestions

  • Refrigerator: Store leftover maple salmon in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days. It stays flavorful and can be quickly reheated in the air fryer or oven.
  • Freezer: For longer storage, wrap each fillet tightly in foil or plastic wrap, then place in a freezer-safe bag. Freeze for up to 1 month.
  • Reheating tip: Reheat gently in your air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes to keep the salmon moist and flaky. Avoid microwaving if you want to preserve the glaze and texture.

What to Do with Leftover Salmon

Don't let leftover salmon go to waste! Try these ideas:

  • Flake it into your favorite pasta with some fresh herbs, just like in my Baked Feta and Tomatoes Pasta.
  • Wrap it in soft tortillas with avocado, cabbage, salsa and lime-cream sauce
  • Stir-fry with rice, veggies, soy sauce and a splash of sesame oil. Try my Salmon Rice Bowl with Roasted Pepper Aioli Sauce!
  • Roll into a whole-wheat wrap with roasted veggies and hummus. You'll love my Oven Roasted Potatoes and Carrots recipe!
