How to Make the Delicious Frittata in a Cuisinart Air Fryer with Tray
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). The temperature depends on the type and size of the air fryer you have. I used Cuisinart Compact, which has a manual temperature set, and what worked for me was the temperature of around 350 degrees F.
While the air fryer is preheating, whisk the eggs, milk/cream, salt, and pepper until well combined. I like using one large bowl to fit all the ingredients for easy pouring into a baking dish.
Add the vegetables directly to the egg mixture without sautéing. But, if you prefer, heat a pan over medium heat and sauté the chopped vegetables in a bit of olive oil until they’re slightly softened.
Add cooked ham and feta cheese to the veggie and egg mixture and stir until evenly combined.
Use a shallow, oven-safe baking dish that fits snugly on the Cuisinart tray. I’ve seen other people using a cake pan to release the cooked frittata quickly. But, in my case, it can not fit into my air fryer. Spray the dish with non-stick cooking spray or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
Pour the frittata mixture into the prepared dish, spreading it evenly. Place the tray in the air fryer on the middle rack. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes. Check halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking. The cooking time might depend on the size of your air fryer, but I would suggest checking after 6-7 minutes and adjusting accordingly.
The frittata is done when it’s set in the middle, and the edges are golden brown. You can check by inserting a toothpick or knife into the center; it’s done if it comes out clean.
Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve. This amount is for 1-2 people (depending on your appetite 😏) and can be served as a perfect breakfast, a great brunch option, or a great complete meal for dinner. It goes great with sour cream and a side salad.
How to Make a Frittata in a Ninja Air Fryer with Basket
Mix the eggs, vegetables, cheese, and seasonings as described in the section above.
Choose a round, oven-safe dish or silicone mold that fits well in the Ninja basket. Grease it lightly with cooking spray.
Preheat the Ninja air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes.
Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and place it into the air fryer basket. Carefully lower the basket into the air fryer.
Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes. Check the frittata at the 12-minute mark to ensure it cooks evenly. If the top browns too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil for the remaining time.
Remove the dish from the basket carefully and let the frittata cool for a few minutes before cutting and serving.

Substitutions/Variations
My veggie suggestions in this recipe are based on my personal preference. But you can load your frittata with an array of other colorful veggies like leeks, green onions, green pepper, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, or zucchini. If you have any leftover fresh vegetables in your fridge, cut them up and add them to your frittata.
I like using feta cheese in my frittata, but you can experiment with different cheeses like cheddar cheese, cottage cheese, mozzarella, or goat cheese. Any leftover shredded cheese will work here. Mix and match for a unique flavor profile.
Add fresh herbs such as parsley, basil, thyme, or dill. These add a refreshing and aromatic touch to your frittata.
You can also add Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or onion powder.
Incorporate ingredients like sun-dried tomatoes, olives, artichoke hearts, and feta cheese for a Mediterranean-inspired frittata.
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes, paprika, or cayenne pepper for a spicy kick. Mix in some jalapeños or chili peppers for an extra punch of heat.
Instead of cooked ham, add cooked bacon cut into small pieces, sausage, or chorizo for a hearty meal. Make sure the meats are precooked before adding them to the egg mixture. So, any cooked leftover meat will work fine here.
Consider adding a hot sauce if you like the frittata spicy.
Helpful Tips and Tricks
Ensure all vegetables and ham are chopped or diced into uniform sizes to ensure even cooking.
To prevent sticking, gently grease the pan or baking dish with oil or cooking spray.
Let the frittata rest for a few minutes after removing it from the air fryer. This allows it to set further and makes it easier to slice.
Quick TipUse a pan or dish that fits well into your air fryer basket. A smaller pan creates a thicker frittata, while a larger one produces thinner frittata.
