Easy & Tasty Ricotta French Toast

·

This easy and tasty ricotta french toast is a perfect breakfast choice. It is a traditional french toast recipe modified by stuffing the bread with ricotta cheese.

French toast is an excellent breakfast option. It is rich in carbs from bread and rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals from eggs. This breakfast is good for you if you eat moderately and don’t overstuff your belly with too much bread. And to make it even healthier, add ricotta cheese between two bread slices and enjoy the crispiness of this perfect tasty combination.

Ricotta Cheese Benefits

Ricotta cheese is a perfect option to reduce fat intake and get enough protein. Of all the cheeses out there, ricotta is one very light option that you can pick. It is made from whey leftover in the cheese production process. As such, it is very low in fat but high in whey protein, which is an ideal option for increasing your protein intake. On the other hand, since it is a leftover product, most of the casein stayed behind in the main cheese product. This is important if you suffer from casein intolerance or wish to minimize this type of milk protein that is digested very slowly.

How to make ricotta stuffed french toast?

This ricotta-stuffed french toast is made like traditional french toast. The bread is soaked into an egg mixture and cooked in oil in a skillet. The only difference is that instead of dipping one slice of bread, you prepare a sandwich using two slices and add ricotta cheese and honey between them to make a sandwich. Then, the sandwich is soaked in egg mixture and cooked in a skillet. Check out my Simple and Tasty Cinnamon French Toast recipe for a traditional way of preparing french toast.
